Project Examples

Students will identify key global trade agreements that include Canada and explore opportunities for Canadian exports under those agreements.

Project examples could include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying export markets for a product that is currently sold only domestically
  • Out of a range of products, identifying which is best for export and to which country or countries
  • Evaluating whether the companies you current target for export of a particular product are optimal under trade conditions
  • (For a government body or policy institute) Reviewing trade agreements to identify export markets that should be promoted to industry

Students will provide a five page report summarizing their findings and actionable recommendations.

Commitments

  • Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to make sure everyone is on the same page.
  • Be available for a 1-2 hour interview with students to tell them about your company and product(s)
  • Be responsive to period emails to answer questions over the duration of the assignment.
  • Provide a Riipen skill rating on student performance upon completion of the project.
  • Create a free organizational profile on Riipen (if you do not already have one).
  • Complete a 30-second exit survey.
  • Pay a $250.00 participation fee to Riipen if approved by the instructor and successfully matched to students.
